The Strands Inn in Nether Wasdale is undoubtedly one of the most rustic places I have ever had the pleasure of visiting.
Not only does this lovely cosy location offer stunning views of England’s Lake District, but it also boasts a unique combination of microbrewery and bed & breakfast, making it an ideal destination for couples, families and adventurers alike.
The Strands Inn itself is full of rustic charm. The inn is situated in an idyllic setting overlooking Wasdale Valley, surrounded by craggy fells, shimmering lakes, and lush green landscapes.
Inside, there are charming bedrooms designed to be comfortable yet inviting.

The Rooms
Each room has been carefully decorated with modern and rustic touches that make you feel right at home during your stay.
All rooms come with comfy beds and complimentary toiletries for added convenience.
The real highlight of my stay was the fantastic microbrewery that is connected to the inn.
The friendly brewmasters (Lesley and Mark) here offer a fantastic selection of craft beer made from local hops and barley sourced from Cumbria’s rolling hillsides – all brewed on-site! We tried several varieties during our visit, and each one was more delicious than the last!
What’s more, in addition to their own beers, they also offer an impressive range of guest cask ales from other local breweries.

In addition to its delicious beer selection, The Strands Inn also offers a fantastic menu full of classic British pub grub such as fish & chips or pie & mash served alongside traditional favourites like gammon steak with all the trimmings.
For something a little different, you can opt for some sharing boards which feature locally sourced cheeses, cured meats, salmon blinis and chutneys – all perfect for couples wanting to share something special during their romantic getaway!
My visit to Nether Wasdale and The Strands Inn was nothing short of exceptional.

From its stunning scenery to its warm hospitality, they go above and beyond to ensure each guest enjoys every moment spent here!

I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for something exceptional in England’s Lake District – you won’t regret it!
