I am delighted to have recently been announced as one of the Miss Manchester Finalists for 2025. I have kindly been sponsored by Bury-based used car dealership Oakwood Motor Company, where I work full time as a Marketing and Advertising Manager.

This will be the second time I take to the Miss Manchester stage almost 6 years on!

The first time around in 2019, my Nan was a huge part of my journey. She helped me tailor my dress, loaned me her best jewellery to wear on the stage and supported me throughout my charity fundraising.

When I was scouted to join for 2025, she was so proud and looking forward to helping me again. Unfortunately, a week later, she passed away suddenly. I knew then that I had to do this one last time.

Growing up in Greater Manchester, I never seemed to fit in with the crowd. I found myself subject to bullying and would constantly compare myself to others in the way I looked and carried myself. I had to suppress my individuality and it was hard to build strong friendships. After mental health counselling and moving schools at the age of 14, I thought it would all go away although this wasn’t the case. It was only when I started to embrace my own quirks that I began to feel truly confident in myself.

My first participation in Miss Manchester 2019 helped me gain the confidence I needed to move forward in my adult life and go on to build strong friendships. I won the Miss Congeniality award which in my eyes was the best award I could’ve received as it was voted for by the other finalists. The ‘Miss Congeniality’ award refers to the contestant voted as having the most pleasant personality, meaning the friendliest and most well-liked among the other participants. Qualities in Miss Congeniality include helpful, genuine, outgoing, and one who pays more attention to others and herself.

Ultimately, this time around, I want to empower women no matter their age to feel comfortable in their own body. I feel, as a size 10/12 lady who has struggled with my own self-confidence, that I am relatable to so many women across Greater Manchester. I would like to use my platform to reach out to anyone who has been subject to childhood bullying and to abolish beauty stereotypes – proving that beauty truly does begin from within no matter what height, weight, clothes size, skin colour you are. I pride myself on my natural approach to beauty and my outgoing personality.

I have partnered with a variety of local businesses to help during my road to Miss Manchester including Lacy Days of Ramsbottom who have helped me select my dream gown, Bury Dental who are helping me with my teeth whitening journey and Bury’s brand new photography studio: Haus of Sean Maloney who hosted the official finalist’s photoshoot.

The final is taking place on Saturday 8th March at Vermillion (Manchester) and will be filmed by a variety of TV productions for programmes such as The Real Housewives of Cheshire.

Votes are now open on the Miss England App and I am hoping that the people of Greater Manchester will join me in my journey by voting for me as their next Miss Manchester.
