Rush Manchester has won the prestigious Rush ‘Oscar’ for the Northern Salon of the Year award, beating off stiff competition from hundreds of other nominations.

One of the UK’s biggest salon brands has unveiled its winners at the RUSH Oscars, celebrating excellence in the industry and highlighting the hard work and dedication from staff in salons up and down the country in the year of 2019.

As part of this Rush Manchester walked away with the prestigious Northern Salon of the Year award, beating off stiff competition from hundreds of other nominations.

This year’s annual black-tie event was held at The Brewery on Sunday 26th January 2020, where over 900 attendees from the Rush salons and academies, as well as VIPs from collaborative companies including L’Oreal, GHD and Balmain, were in attendance.

As part of the celebrations, the night started with a warm welcome from co-founders and joint CEOs Andy Phouli and Stell Andrew. They looked back on a successful 2019, which included regaining sole ownership of RUSH once more and shared plans of reviving the family culture of the company in 2020.

Lisa Wheatcroft, Chief Operating Officer of RUSH continued the speeches before Paola Pinto, Artistic Team Member and Tina Farey, International Editorial Director kicked off the awards ceremony.

Later into the evening Peter Phouli, Chief Strategic Officer and son of founder and CEO Andy Phouli, took to the stage, sharing his ambitions for the next generation of RUSH to rise up and reach their goals.

He said: “Life is about finding purpose and fulfilment. On behalf of the team, I want to share a long term vision and goal to make RUSH the happiest place to work.
“You all here this evening are the future of this brand and the next generation. Congratulations to all of you and especially the winners – you should be so very proud.”

The rest of the awards were hosted by International Creative Director, Andy Heasman and International Colour Director, Chris Williams, interrupted only by a dynamic schedule of entertainment, including a flashmob of dancers.
