HO, HO, HO, This year’s Manchester Christmas Market mugs are revealed.
As important to the festive season as tinsel and wrapping paper, the design for this year’s Christmas Market mug has been released.
Each year the limited edition mugs are snapped up in their thousands by visitors to the markets excited to add to their collection.
The mugs are used across all of the market sites and come in both a coffee and gluhwein edition.

Visitors are requested to pay a £3.00 deposit, along with the charge of their drink, they can decide either to take the cup back to a stallholder to reclaim the deposit, or to keep as a souvenir.
In 1999 the Christmas Markets originated with only a handful of stallholders in St Ann’s Square, this year marks its 20th anniversary.
The mugs are available – while stocks last – from the first day of the markets on Friday 8th November until they finish on Saturday 21st December (Albert Square will be open until Sunday 22nd December until 4 pm).
Manchester’s Christmas spokesperson, Cllr Pat Karney, said: “When we first introduced the yearly Christmas Market mugs, never could we have ever predicted just how popular they would have become. From the humble drinking, the vessel comes a festive custom as significant as mistletoe.
“We know that people come back year after year to complete their ever-growing collections, it is with some excitement that we can finally reveal this year’s mugs.”
